Our main headquarters is based at Away Resorts St Ives Bay Beach Resort (TR27 5BH). This modern facility offers everything you need before and after your surf lesson, including indoor changing facilities, equipment storage and a fully stocked surf shop with surf essentials, accessories and equipment to help you make the most of your time in the water.

Our second location is situated within the beautiful National Trust site at Godrevy (TR27 5ED). Known affectionately as our Beach Camp, this is where Shore Surf School first began in 1999 and remains at the heart of everything we do.

Surf Lessons in St Ives Bay for All Ages and Abilities

Our group surf lessons are open to everyone aged 8 years and above. Children under the age of 8 are also welcome when accompanied in the water by a parent or guardian, with a complimentary wetsuit provided.
All of our group and private surf lessons in St Ives Bay, Cornwall last 2 hours, with all surfing equipment included. We provide quality surfboards, warm wetsuits and everything you need for an unforgettable day on the beach.

FAQ's
Do I need to book surfing lessons in advance?
Yes, we recommend you book your surfing lessons in advance with us using our online booking service or give us a call on 01736 755556. Head over to our 'Surf Lessons' page to make a booking.
What do we need to bring with us for our surfing lesson?
All we ask you bring is your swim kit and a towel. If you want to bring your own wetsuit, that's no problem, we recommend not wearing a shortie wetsuit for your lesson as you may get cold, unless its super sunny. Please arrive 15 minutes before your lesson to check in.
What is the youngest age you allow to participate in surf lessons?
The youngest we allow are 7 years and above. We do ask that 7 year olds are accompanied by an adult during the lesson, that is either the adult books in for a lesson themselves, or they borrow a wetsuit from us to accompany the child in the water during their lesson. We ask for everyone participating in surf lessons to be able to swim at least 25m in a pool unaided.
If i change my mind can i cancel for a refund?
in order to cancel and refund your lesson we must receive at least 24hrs notice. We can reschedule if there is a legitimate reason why you cannot attend the lesson on the day. If we are unable to reschedule we can email you a voucher which you can than use to book a lesson with us at a future date.
